Choosing the right Google Business Profile category
One field on your profile matters more than the rest put together. Most businesses set it once, in a hurry, and never look again.

Of everything on your Google Business Profile, the primary category does the most work. It is how Google decides which searches you are even a candidate for.
Primary versus additional
You get one primary category and several additional ones.
The primary carries far more weight. Additional categories widen what you can appear for, but they do not rescue a wrong primary.
Be as specific as you can honestly be
The instinct is to pick something broad so you appear for more. It backfires. "Restaurant" competes with every eating place in your city. "Bengali restaurant" competes with a handful.
The rule: the most specific category that is genuinely accurate. Not the most specific category you could argue for.
When to change it
Change it when the current one is plainly wrong, or when a more specific one describes you better and you can back it up.
Do not change it because a competitor uses something else. What a rival calls themselves is not evidence about your business. If three nearby salons list "Bridal Makeup" and you do not do bridal makeup, adding it is a lie that brings you customers you cannot serve - and the reviews that follow.
Changing it is not free
A category change can move which searches you appear for, in either direction. Change one thing, then wait and watch. Changing five things in a week means you learn nothing about any of them.
What Sunaam does here
Sunaam only suggests a category change when your own evidence supports it - your services, what your reviews mention, what your website says. Competitor usage is one input among several and never enough on its own.
And when it does suggest one, it says why, in plain words, with the evidence attached. If you disagree, dismiss it. You approve every change before it reaches Google, and afterwards Sunaam measures what happened - without claiming the change caused it, because that is not something anybody can honestly claim.
